Carlos started coaching the Olympic-Style lifts in 2009 with CrossFit Initiative and has loved being a small part of all of his athlete’s journeys ever since.
Richie Hernandez
Athletic Performance/Youth/Adult WL Coach
Richie is our example of The Calavera Way. He is always leading from the front and will never ask of his athletes something that he hasn’t done before. It is because of this that he is able to attract hard working kids to his athletic performance class and gets them all to perform at their best.
Paige Hernandez
CFO/Admin/HR/Meet Coach
Paige has the most titles at Calavera Barbell. Whether electronic or verbal she is the voice of the club. A teacher at heart, communicating with others is an integral part of her life and how she is able to get students to excel in math. She does so much behind the scenes that keeps Calavera moving forward and coaches focused on improving movement patterns. None of it would work without her!
Menard Lontoc

Coach Nerd is our connector. He has a way of connecting ad relating with every athlete that he coaches. He creates such a bond, especially with our youth team members. Part of connecting with others is putting their interest ahead of their own and nobody does this better than Coach Nerd.

Erika is the heart of Calavera Barbell. We all love her because she always extends her hand to help others first. Her passion radiates through club and it’s impossible not to see her smile every time you see her.
Amanda Cook
Event Coordinator/Meet Coach
Amanda keeps the club organized and accountable on all levels. She is our most decorated athlete and has won the prestigious “Masters Grand Slam”- winning gold at the Master’s National, Pan Am, World’s, and American Masters!
Olivia Barclay
Youth Weightlifting Coach
Olivia became Calavera’s first Youth National Champion in 2016 when she was just 11 years old. She continues to push herself to new limits in the sport of weightlifting and now gets an opportunity to show kids how to do what she does.
